Hi guys. I just came back from participating in a World Cyber Games 2004 warm-up match (i.e. a tournament in itself) that was held in a CC in Subang (Taipan area if I'm not mistaken) called "Games World Internet Cafe". And I performed craptacularly!!! :D

I took part in the NFS Underground game category and brought along my PS1 gamepad, with a CD-RW that stored my customised cars. But unfortunately, the CC did not install any CD-ROM drive on it's PC's. So, I had to make do with the cars originally installed in the game. And those cars weren't good. They didn't have the "TJ's unique performance upgrades". This was evident in the match that I played, where my opponent can easily outrun me even in a straight line! Ugh... unfair... but serves me right. I should've brought floppy disks or a thumb drive along to install my customised cars...

But based on my experience, I think I'm not gonna have a good chance of winning even the 1st round in prelims of WCG 2004 in NFS Underground. That made me wonder, did I make the right choice in registering for this game? Or should I have participated in the FIFA 2004 category? But I'm not that good in FIFA anymore, coz I rarely play the game. The soccer game I play often is Winning Eleven / PES. Takut tak biasa main FIFA kang, kalah lagi pulak.

For the time being, I think I'll search for the unique performance upgrades online and download them into my PC. I have a feeling other people might have cheated, i.e. they downloaded lots of unique performance upgrades and install them in their PC. What else can explain the huge speed differential between my cars and theirs?!!

At other times, you might call me a sore loser, but in this case, I'm sure I'm not one. Even if I were to keep a clean line in my races, I'll still lose if my opponents cheat. :(

I'm pretty sure my opponent cheated during the competition, coz when I got back home and tried utilising all the unique performance upgrades, I got such a huge performance increase, and can easily beat ppl who don't cheat! And according to what happened at the CC, there's no way the organisers can find out whether people cheat or not, coz they didn't even check our save files, whether we have more than 3 unique performance upgrades! (FYI, in NFS Underground, u can only gain a max of 3 performance upgrades legally through the single-player mode. Anything more than that, it's confirmed that you cheat!). I definitely am going to voice this out by emailing the organisers. Siot aaa cheating diorang ni!!! :(
