Awww... cute!

This afternoon, 5.30 p.m. to be exact, I went to watch Garfield The Movie at Midvalley. I know, I know, I'm sooo outdated. That movie must've been out here in Malaysia for ages! Hehehe... but I don't care. Well, actually I do care, but I just didn't have time to watch it before, so I should feel very lucky that I was able to still watch it even though it's reaching the end of its life cycle.

At first, before watching it, I thought to myself: "I shouldn't expect much from it, since it'll surely be a kiddie movie, with cute characters and all." But guess what? I was slightly wrong. Yup, it really was a kiddie movie, with cute characters (I dunno which one's my favourite - they're all cute!). But it also was full of wit (most of it coming from Garfield, of course) and humour. In some of the scenes, I even smiled and chuckled slightly. If a movie can do that to me, than it must be good. :)

Should I tell you it's storyline? Without giving much away, it's about how Garfield, Jon's only pet, becomes annoyed when Jon brings Odie, a new dog, into their home. Garfield becomes jealous and drives Odie away, he becomes lost, and so Garfield has to rescue Odie because he wants Jon to be happy. Generally, it's like that. For more details, go watch it!

What I find great about the movie are the witty comments that Garfield always spew out in every scene. I think there's not a single scene that he doesn't give witty and humorous lines. Furthermore, I also like how faithful the movie is in trying to recreate the tone, setting, and scenes of the Garfield comic strip. Even Garfield's cute teddy bear, Pooky is there! Jon was okay, but I think Liz, in the comic strip, is more sarcastic and not-so-open towards Jon. But in the movie, they made Liz very cheerful, and really attracted to Jon. What's up with that? If only they included the 24 hour Diner scene with that sleepy old lady working the counters that Jon and Garfield always visit in the comic strips. I'm sure it'll elicit a lot of laughs! :D

What's also great is not just the movie, but what occured before the movie starts. There's a short clip of the squirrel character in Ice Age! That was also hilarious. I think that clip should win an Oscar in next year's event. Unless, of course, if another movie upends it.

Before I sign off, I just wanna say that I had another drink at Starbucks... again! This time, it's a Raspberry Ice-Blended Tea Frappucino. Yes, it was good, but I think it tastes a little bit like 7-Eleven's Slurpee (similar in taste, but of course, Starbucks' taste much, much better)... that's just my opinion. However, I think I prefer Ice-Blended Coffee. But am I crazy?!!! No way will I again go to another Starbucks outlet and purchase another Frappucino. It costs RM11.50!

On second thought, once a month won't break the bank, would it? ;) Ugh... what's happening to me... I'm becoming a Starbucks/Coffee Bean addict!!!
