I should be finishing my project report, but I can't resist the urge to post this entry... the Gunners' unbeaten run is finished! And how unlucky they are... as their unbeaten run was stopped by Man U, just when they were on the verge of making a half-century amount of games unbeaten... sad... :(

The game itself, although it ended 2-0 in Man U's favour, was not all that good. Both sides didn't actually play quite skilfully. But I guess that's what you would expect when two top sides clash with each other. You don't expect the match to be free flowing, unless it was a match between two sides having a huge gap in quality, say Arsenal versus a second division side.

In any case, I do accept that Man U won the match fairly. Both goals were legitimate goals (i.e. resulted from no unfair decisions). The penalty that was won by Rooney, some people might say that it was unfair since minimal contact occurred between Campbell and him, but I see it differently. To me, the intent was there, and it didn't look like having any contact because Rooney was trying to avoid being struck with Campbell's leg. If he just went straight ahead and didn't try to avoid Campbell's trailing leg, it will surely also be a penalty, so the referee got that right.

The second goal resulted from Arsenal's decision to risk it. They went forward in search of an equaliser and didn't care much about what happened at the back. Heck, even Toure was playing like an attacking midfield player in the last few minutes! Due to this, they were hit by a Man U counter-attack and hats-off to Rooney for completing the goal. Although I HATE his guts... :D

Ah... all good things must come to an end, right? It's just rather unlucky for them to drop their record at the most important of times... Anyhow, the fact is still that Man U is trailing behind Arsenal by 8 points, and behind Chelsea by 6 points. Would they be able to close those gaps further? Hmmm... I don't think so. Against Arsenal, yes Man U play well, but against other sides? I envision more draws in their future matches... :)

As for Arsenal? I think they'll still go on and win the Premiership. Hopefully.

Let's continue my work then.
