Looking back

Every time I listen to Sixpence None The Richer's "Kiss Me", it never fails to make me remember my college years at KMYS. If I'm not mistaken, the song was released in 1999. Oh how far I have come since that year.

I came to that college filled with hope and confidence. And a little bit of swagger, I might add (I guess that explains why I was being happy-go-lucky with my studies there!). After obtaining exceptional results for my SPM, I was very sure that I can conquer any challenge that comes my way. But the end result, you all know what happened, right?

KMYS was also my first chance since a very long time, to be in contact with girls. Hahah! Well, don't get me wrong, even though I was in SAS (which is a male boarding school), I did have some contact, it's just that I had no actual female friends. Had some crushes there too, I might add, of which I am not happy to divulge their identities. Sorry. ;)

I also became a better basketball player at KMYS (not now though, due to lack of practice, I suck!). My days practicing with my frens (every afternoon, not to mention every weekend morning!) really improved my skills and confidence in basketball.

I made a lot of new friends and acquaintances there, each of which I hope will remain as friends sampai bila2.

Studying at KMYS inadvertently turned me into a computer freak. Hehe. I learned about computers then and there, when I had to take Computing as one of my A-Level subjects. It turned out I loved working with computers and playing computer games so much. It had a two-pronged effect on me in the end: I increased my technical affinity towards computers and computer games, but my increased interest in computer games distracted me from my studies; it was enough to kinda wreck my results.

KMYS was also a wake-up call for me. My A-Level results reminded me of how I got the great results during SPM: sheer hardwork, dedication and consistent attention towards my studies, not some shoddy, last minute work. It was a downer for me.

But I guess, good things always try to appear at the most unexpected of places and circumstances. It turned out, there is a rainbow at the end of the storm, after all.
