DEEEE-TROIT PISTONS WIIIIN!!!
Wednesday, June 16, 2004 Hehehe... I'm in cloud nine now. You know why? Coz the Lakers that I hate most have lost. They lost to a team that, before the NBA Finals even started, have been considered unable to match the LA Lakers. Everybody thought it'd be finished in five. But nobody thought the Lakers would be the one on the losing end of those five games. Hahaha... Hats off to the Pistons, however, coz they were evidently the better team in the NBA Finals. I even thought that they were the better team in Game 2 (excluding the overtime period), and only because they didn't foul Shaq or even anyone during that final possesion that led to Kobe scoring the tying basket was the one that made them lost the game. But nevertheless, what matters is that the Pistons have WON! The decision to choose Chauncey Billups as Finals MVP was very much correct. Billups was definitely the most consistent scorer (barring Shaq) in the Finals. He has a 21 points-per-game average in the Finals and plays the point really well, scoring timely three pointers, making assists, and setting up the Pistons offense. But if it was allowed, I would choose the whole Pistons team as the MVP coz they played team basketball. Yes, team basketball. A term that does not befit the LA Lakers who had individual superstars with super-sized egos. You have only to look at Kobe and how he, game after game, forced his shots and trying unsuccessfully to stamp his class on the games. The only consistent performer of the Lakers was Shaq, and even he could not save the Lakers. Bye-bye Lakers, see you next season! On another note, yesterday night I watched a free movie titled "Honey". It's a movie about how a woman dancer named Honey Daniels try to make it onto the big stage, first succeeding, then suffered failure, and after that succeeding again. All at the same time trying to ensure kids living near her home are not into bad things by filling up their time with dancing lessons. Well, it's a predictable story at best and not a good movie after all, but what I like most about it are the dance moves which are superbly coreographed, and Jessica Alba. Yes, Jessica Alba of the "Dark Angel" TV series fame. She looks so hot and sweet in this movie. But apart from those two good points, everything else about the movie is a definite no-no. While waiting for the movie to start, I walked around 1 Utama and couldn't believe that I came across my old classmate, Izuin. Yup Lini & Faza, our good ol' classmate Izuin. But since masa tu aku pun tak sure whether it's her or not, aku pun tak tegur la. Sampai tiga kali terserempak but tak tegur. Even when she's sitting in the same line as I am in the movie theater! Ish3... she must've thought that I was a snob. But if she's reading this (which I don't think so), sorry la yek, coz I didn't know that it was you. Mana tak, nearly 10 years dah tak jumpe. Lain kali aku tegur, insyaAllah... :) Posted by Nikman Shah at 12:51 pm ![]() | *** |
