I still have a fighting chance of qualifying!

This past afternoon, I went to Sunway Pyramid to check my current standings in the WE7 tournament. And was I so relieved to see that I still have a slight chance of going through. I have played 8 games so far, and accumulated 10 points. The top two places of the group will surely be out of reach for me, but the remaining two berths for the 2nd round are still up for grabs. Currently, there are 4 people in contention for those 2 spots, me among them.

But the thing is, it's quite hard to qualify for that, coz firstly, I have to win all my remaining games. For those of you who've read my previous post, you'd know that I've not played consistently well in all my games. And secondly, even if I were to win all my games, I would not be able to qualify if all the other 3 people in contention for places 3 and 4 win their remaining matches. So, in other words, I have to win all my matches while hoping that the other people drop their games. I hope to at least get 4th place and qualify...

Tomorrow I'll go and watch the groups A and B matches. My group, D, will play out the remaining matches next weekend. I can say that I'm quite lucky to be placed in group D coz all the other groups have many dominant players. Only in group D can you see no one dominating the matches (except for those top 2 players in the group, of course).

If I'm not mistaken, my friend Faza will be back tomorrow. Gonna make it a point to meet her. The last time we met was around November. Along with meeting her, I'll hopefully meet all my other friends yg I've lost contact with. As I said, it's great to have friends... :)
