Bit by bit, my old PC goes to new owners...

3 weeks ago, I sold my old graphics card to a Uniten student. Last week, I sold off the CPU and heat sink + fan of my old PC. Tonight, I've just sold off my old PC's network card. The CPU and network card transactions were both through lelong.com.my. Total accumulated money from all 3 components is RM201. Mind you, it's not profit okay, coz I used my own money when I bought those things 2 years ago. But then, I'm all smiles coz at least I got some money back... :)

But it's quite sad actually. That PC of mine has been through lots with me. I know it's just 2 years, but for a PC, 2 years is a long time. What service has it given me during it's lifetime? Primarily games and Internet of course... ;) But still, I couldn't have done my assignments, projects, lab reports, etc. without it. It was an invaluable asset to me. And now I hope it will become invaluable assets to others.

Well, looking on the bright side of things, at least the PC does not go to waste just like that. Not like my first PC, where after having it for so long, I didn't sell it off when I upgraded my PC. I just threw it away in a trash bin since I had no use for it anymore. What a waste. Not only in terms of money, but also in terms of pollution...

Now, I've just consulted my friend Miza and she said she's willing to buy the remaining parts of my PC in order to upgrade hers (which is waaaaay older than mine!). I calculated and agreed to sell at a price of RM345. She'll also need to buy a new CPU since mine had already been sold to someone else. I offered to do it for her and found out that the cheapest price of that CPU (AMD Athlon XP 2000+ Thoroughbred) is RM235. So, in total, she'll pay me RM580, although the money that I REALLY get will be only RM345. Still, that's good enough. :)

Nevertheless, I think it's better if I were to sell it through lelong.com.my, coz through there, I can get more money! However, I think I'll help Miza, coz she's my friend. Those people at lelong.com.my aren't necessarily good people (I'm still fortunate to meet only good people from lelong.com.my). At least with Miza, I'm sure that she can be trusted. Plus, it's better to help a friend than to help a stranger right?

RM345 could be obtained from the sale of that old PC. Now that brings me to a grand total of RM546 in total value of components sold! Not that bad, considering those components are 2 years old... I hope I can keep that money and avoid spending... Yeah, right! :P
