I'm just back from Sg Wang guys. Sorry for not updating yesterday. The thing is, I was dead tired last night and didn't feel like updating my blog. But here's a recap of what's interesting yesterday and today.

Yesterday I went to Low Yat Plaza to take part in a free competition of Need for Speed: Underground (NFSU) organised by Logitech. I just knew of that competition a few days ago. So, I went and tried the competition out. And you know what? I won the first round! Hahaha... I totally didn't expect that to happen, especially with that being my first time playing the game using a steering wheel. Normally I'd play the game using my trusty PSone gamepad. For my efforts, I won a free Logitech t-shirt. And I was told to come again tomorrow (which is today) for the quarterfinals. Cool!

And that's why I went to Sg Wang today. The quarterfinals were held in a one-on-one format, me against some guy who was "okay la, but not that good". But still, I didn't expect to win coz I'm not good either! But really, I was quite lucky to win that quarterfinal match by the smallest of margins, all because my opponent crashed his car right near the finish line. Whew! "I'm in the semifinals!", I thought to myself.

During the semifinals, I was totally sure I won't have a chance to win, coz all the other competitors are very good. And I guessed right, coz I didn't win. I got only 3rd place out of four, which was not enough to qualify for the finals. But hey, it's good enough that I went to the semifinals. Those were my first times using the steering wheel. If only they allowed me to use a gamepad, things would surely get rosier...

I was not that concerned with that competition, however. I am more focused on trying to win the World Cyber Games 2004 (WCG) which will be held at Midvalley Megamall from the 27th to 29th August 2004. I'm gonna take part in the NFSU game category, and this time they'll allow us to bring any controller that we want to use in the game. Ahhh... that's more comforting to hear. I'm gonna practice, practice and practice till I can win the competition!
