And I'm brooooookennnn...
Thursday, August 12, 2004 I'm writing this while waiting for my 3 Petronas friends Chit Chat, Zairi and Ah Chong to come by my place. They're currently doing their reorientation at Permata, which is so near to Uniten. That's why they wanted to come meet me. Anyway, 2 days ago, Lini invited me and many of our KMYS friends for a lunch at her house. It's sort of like a reunion thingy I think. Well, I'm going there (not just to eat for free okay... ;)) with hopes of meeting my old KMYS friends. It's been some time since I met them all, so I hope most of them will be coming to Lini's house. And of course, I also want to eat for free. ;) One other important thing of note that's coming up this weekend is the KMYS convoy. I'm actually putting my decision on whether to join that trip on hold for a moment. It's because I'm waiting to see which batch of ex-students will be the majority during the trip. If there are too many juniors going for the trip, and too few of my batch going to KMYS, I think I'll cancel going there. It's not that I'm antisocial, it's just that it's not as enjoyable if I were to go there and not meet most of my friends who are as old as me. Ntah la... I'll just wait and see first. And lastly, I just want to mention here that my final year project actually has commercial value! Yup, my supervisor stated so. He said, currently in Malaysia, no power plant (at least TNB's power plants) except Kapar Power Station has any sort of software that monitors the power plant's current performance, efficiency and financial statistics in real-time and online. Performance monitoring, yes, that exists, especially at TNB HQ. But that performance monitoring software serves to just monitor the performance of power plants nationwide to check for any potential failures, so as to prevent any major blackouts from happening. But software that checks how efficient each power plant is performing, and based on current fuel prices, calculate how much cost and profit each power plant is expending and gaining? Nope... not yet implemented in Malaysia. So, I hope I'll be able to complete this project and sell it to them. What a great idea! :) Hmmm... it's already 8.49 p.m. and Chat still hasn't arrived. What's taking them so long??? I'm sooo hungry nih... Posted by Nikman Shah at 8:49 pm ![]() | *** |
