Finally... I can start studying!
Thursday, October 28, 2004 After nearly a full week's worth of toiling about trying to finish my final year project (FYP) report... finally... it's finished! Well, technically it's not REALLY completed, since I still have to create some data flow diagrams for the software I'm proposing. But at least, 95% of the report has been completed, and I've sent it to both my supervisors for their comments, and when I get the report back, I'll just make some adjustments and voila! I've completed the first half of my FYP! :) With the completion of that report, I finally am able to now begin my quest to get as much A's as possible during these 2 weeks of final examinations. My target: to get on the Dean's List for these remaining final 2 semesters of mine, so that I graduate with at least a CGPA of 3.50. It is extremely important I do well in my exams, since I'm not active in extra-curricular activites in Uniten. I only have my academic results to depend on during job interviews in the future... And I'm seriously thinking of getting good jobs when I graduate. Speaking of jobs, some of my YTN friends, who're currently being trained in Uniten before joining TNB's workforce, told me that YTN convertible loan students like me do not actually have to work with TNB upon graduation, as we're not tied to TNB like how my UK friends, who're scholarship students, are tied. Is this really true??? Will I be able to search for another job somewhere else??? I hope I'm allowed to do that, coz I'm seriously thinking of working somewhere else other than TNB. Possibly internationally-renowned companies like Shell and Petronas. Yeah, I know, the job interviews that these companies conduct are really HORRIFYING! I'm speaking from past experience, as I've went to a Petronas scholarship interview in 1998 and a Shell internship program interview for my industrial training early this year. Of course, I flunked both interviews. Flunked REALLY, REALLY BADLY. But no matter, I'm undaunted by it all. I will try my best to secure jobs for those companies, if TNB really allows it. But still, it's nice to have a company to fall back to (i.e. work with TNB jugak la) if things don't actually go according to my plan... Posted by Nikman Shah at 8:57 pm ![]() | *** |
