Valentine's Day? What Valentine's Day?

It finally rained heavily last night. Good thing too, coz for the past few weeks, Malaysia, particularly this Klang Valley area, has been subjected to one of the most scorching hot weather I've ever experienced in my life! Amid the din of raindrops falling on the roof and thunder booming in the sky, I finally was able to get a good night's sleep... well, almost. Those darn mosquitoes are at it again. I've been losing a lot of sleep due to those pesky critters.

Tomorrow is supposed to be Valentine's Day. But do I care? Nope. Not before, not now, and I'm certain never will. All due to two reasons.

One, it's not a Muslim tradition. According to what I know, it's a Christian tradition that, correct me if I'm wrong, has origins of humiliation towards Muslims.

Two, it purportedly is meant to celebrate love, but why do you need to have a day to celebrate love? If you truly love a person, you won't lavish your praise and affection on her/him only on one single day. You'll do it throughout the year, for as long as you live. That's what true love is. Loving the person for a lifetime.

If you guys want to celebrate Valentine's, go on ahead. I won't bug you. But you'll certainly not hear me mope around saying how gloomy and boring it is to not be able to celebrate it with somebody else. :)

And the previous post, about being alone, has got nothing to do with me being single okay? Hehehe... I'm not that pathetic to moan about myself having no significant other to spend Valentine's Day with.
