London bombings!

I was getting ready to travel to Uniten to meet my dearie when I heard the familiar chime of an SMS message arriving in my phone's inbox. I initially thought that it was an SMS from my dearie reminding me to hurry up; instead, something unexpected was written: "There were terrorist attacks on London buses and tubes. Alhamdulillah, ayah, ibu and [my sister] semua di Turkey and [my brother] in Spain. [My sis-in-law] (who was actually in London at that moment) is safe"

In my mind, I was thinking like, wow, really? I was extremely glad they were safe. I quickly replied my relief of knowing that they were all safe.

I have read the news at BBC's and MSNBC's websites, and have now took stock at what has occured only around 12 hours ago, at around 5 pm Malaysian time. 4 bombs blew off: 3 detonating subway trains, while the remainder exploded in a London bus.

The explosions occurred during rush hour, while people were on their way to work. And the blasts, according to the maps of their locations that I've looked at, occurred near some educational institutions!

I just hope that among the casualties, none of them are Malaysians. Let us pray for the safety of our Malaysian friends and families in the UK. For now, let us not think about the reasons behind these terrorist attacks; let our hearts and minds be with our loved ones.

If you have relatives and friends in the UK, I hope they are all safe.
