Hazy days

Thursday, August 11, 2005

The seriously hazy days of 1997/1998 are coming back! As of yesterday (Thursday), it was really, really hazy in the Klang Valley area. And I bravely didn't even wear any protective gear that can minimise the haze's effects, such as a face mask. But IMO, the masks won't help much. It does help a bit, but the fine particles will still get through the holes in the mask and into your lungs.

Thursday too, I went to Midvalley to meet up with my gf, and we had dinner with her 2 frens. Had dinner at Chilli's, which was, as usual, very expensive. I didn't order a meal myself, so I just shared a meal with my gf. (I'm not being a cheapskate ok! It's just that I'm trying to minimise my expenses, especially when I will no longer receive anymore allowance from YTN due to my study period extension...)

We all then watched Bewitched, which was an entertaining and cute movie. Definitely a chick flick, suitable for people who like sweet and romantic stuff. :)

Today, again, I met up with my gf and this time we roamed around Sungei Wang Plaza to enquire the amount of money that she can get if she were to trade-in her old Nokia 7600 handphone. She's planning to ditch that phone and buy a new one. To those interested in purchasing the phone, please do contact me ok? We're planning to start selling it at a price of around 500 to 600 ringgit.

And we had lunch at Pizza Hut today. Went there because I wanted to try out the Cheesy Lava pizza crust. Which was great tasting, but very muak. Only had 2 slices of it and already I didn't feel like eating anymore. Ended up packing it and brought it home (I finished it up just before writing up this post! ;)).

Read a very intriguing article at Pakdi's blog just now. It's about Steve Jobs' motivational speech, and after reading it, it makes me feel that life is a very precious asset that we have that should not be wasted by doing something that we don't have passion for. Instead of trying to "Love what you do", try to "Do what you love". It'll make our lives a whole lot more satisfying.

Here's the speech: http://www.pakdi.com/blog/archives/2005/08/stay_hungry_sta.html#more

OK, gotta go now. Sleep early, as tomorrow I'll be going to my friend's wedding. First experience attending a friend's wedding! :)

Semua dah nak kawin. Bila laaa aku nak kawin plak ni...
