Good job!

Time for another update.

What happened since last week? As you can see in my updated post previously, I have submitted my thesis to my co-supervisor, of which I am happy to report that it came back to me with no need for modifications whatsoever. What a relief. Thus I need only to modify it a bit according to the comments made by my supervisor and send it for binding. Yup, did those already. Now I'm waiting for the binded copies to be completed (while creating the CD's to store my project files for my supervisors), submit them to my supervisor, and FINALLY, I'm through being a student. Yey!

Oh yeah. How was my interview with Panasonic Compressor R&D? It went well, alright. The interview was definitely the best performance I have ever made in a job interview, period. Of course, I framed and memorised a few answers (such as the ever popular "Explain about yourself" question), but surprisingly, I was able to belt out my answers fluently, with little to no pauses and gaps. Alhamdulillah.

I definitely owe it all to Allah for assisting me that day.

Here's a rundown of what happened. The night before, I read up on some compressor thermodynamics theories which I, at that time, thought would help me answer the questions. The next morning, I went contrary to the norm for people preparing for interviews: I drank coffee! Hahah. I read and learned from other people that it is not a good idea to drink coffee before going for interviews or doing a presentation, as coffee would make one's stomach unsettled and thus make you lose concentration. Surprisingly, that didn't happen. Instead, I were more alert than I were during my 2 previous interviews! Yup, I'm serious. And what's more surpising is that I slept a wee bit late than I should, at around 3 something a.m.

Heheh. Now I know how to REALLY prepare for interviews: drink coffee!

Also, when I arrived at the factory premises, I met up with another interview candidate, and chatted with him a bit. I guess that also helped make me less nervous.

Before the interview, one of the interviewers gave a brief presentation of how working with Panasonic is in terms of benefits. I must say, it is quite good. Could even say that it's comparable to TNB's benefits.

The interview session itself was a breeze. Of course, as most interviews go, it definitely isn't perfect. But I was able to answer the questions posed to me with a high degree of confidence. Luckily they only asked 1 theory question relating to thermodynamics / refrigeration, which I was able to answer. :)

But what makes me a little bit unsure that the interview results will go my way is the fact that they had asked some questions that forced me to reveal my sponsorship situation. Well, IMO, I should reveal that situation as early as possible to every one of my possible employers, so that they know beforehand what they are getting into. Plus, it is not a good idea to hide information as crucial as this to your employers. They have the right to know. Personally, I feel I have answered their questions relating to this matter satisfactorily, and I might add that I were quite convincing.

But, it could be that after the interview, when they compare and contrast every of the candidates, they might feel that having me is quite risky when compared to other candidates. Who knows?

Anyway, D-day is tomorrow. I should receive a call from them by tomorrow the latest. Doa for me okay guys? Anyway, I'm keeping an open mind. I'm prepared for any outcome. And I definitely do not put high hopes for any of my job applications, as I do not want to be disappointed. Take them as they come, but if they do not go the way I want them to, then take a deep breath, relax, and try again. :)

Continue our job hunt, shall we?
